Arguably the most successful Jordan hybrid to date, the Spizike sees two addition colorways this season, including a black/varsity red-stealth and black/new blue-white-infrared colorway. Both feature combo textile uppers, including the use of patent leather, premium leather, suede, and the brand’s signature elephant print. The black/new blue-white-infrared is set for a May 8th release while the mostly black silhouette drops on June 5th, 2010.

'vertical omotesando'

'vertical omotesando' is a architectural proposal by international firm WAI architecture

for a fashion museum which reflects the culture of the omotesando fashion world

in tokyo. the structure is envisioned to be a verticial version of the omotesando street in

which it is based.

inside the 100 meter-high museum tower, the interior is reinterpreted as a network of

shuttling elevators, platforms, escalators and stairs that connect a series of horizontally

projected volumes. the enclosed nature of the floating floors evoke a sense of exclusivity,

a characteristic typical of high fashion boutiques. the proposal hosts a variety of

entertainment activities with spaces allocated to fashion galleries, a runway area and a sky

bar on the highest floor.

one of the key features used to navigate through the building is an elevated platform or

'moving catwalk'. this pathway provides an alternative way to wander through the building,

departing from the predictable walkthrough experience of a museum. in doing this, visitors

are given more choices in finding their own trajectory through the building.

the 'moving catwalk' starts at the main lobby and distributes its passenger through the

floating galleries, only to finish off at the last level where one can find the runway and

skybar. on the runway floor, the catwalk becomes not only a part of the seating area, but

also provides visibility to the backstage room of the runway. in doing this, it hopes to open

up the relationship between fashion and the public while encouraging visitor participation.

V.O.B. - Fashion: adidas Originals x size? Manchester Pack

Commemorating a decade of service to the UK, premium retailer size? continues its tenth anniversary project with a special release from adidas Originals. Having already launched a London pack, the cities series continues with Manchester. The release features much of the same design elements, pairing a classic Originals sneaker and track jacket into a special limited edition release. While the sneakers only see a production of 500 pairs, the jackets will be made in a run of 300, both holding a launch date set for April 17th, 2010.

V.O.B. - Fashion: adidas Originals “Hide and Seek” Stan Smith 80s TF

An interesting theme making its way into the adidas Originals 2010 spring/summer collection has been their “TF” line. The TF line is based around iconic classics which feature a transformable upper. The initial drop has seen highlights that include the Superstar and the Stan Smith 80s seen here. In its original form, the Stan Smith features a high-top profile in which the upper can be un-zipped and removed to create a low-top version in a different color. We expect this concept to continue on with further releases but for the time being, the Stan Smith 80s TF is available now at select retailers.
