While hunting, fishing and firearms might have been the design basis for Junya Watanabe’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection, the pieces are everything beyond the woods and creeks. From the newly release collection, the basic button down shirt is remixed into a jacket-like number with new materials while retaining the shape and silhouette of a button down. Crafted with a mix of nylon shell and topped off with a blue/green wool plaid on shoulders, cuffs and sleeves, the shirt is a hybrid of puffer jacket and western shirt. Pair with dark selvedge denim to thread the fine line between dressed up and casual, or play a new tune to the trusted button down, twill pants combo this fall.
