The ongoing MIHARAYASUHIRO for PUMA collection continues with the unveiling of the MY-51. The sneaker features a bit of a MIHARAYASUHIRO for PUMA signature with a split in the tooling between the forefoot and heel. A patent leather upper combines with a thick strap on a similar note to some of PUMA’s racing-based footwear options. Branding can be seen with both PUMA’s block logo and a silver stud. 38-year-old brand Pony will re-release its iconic Slam Dunk model as part of its upcoming Archives Collection that will soon hit select retailers.

The Pony Slam Dunk, a sneaker that first released in 1981, comes back 29 years later in a updated, fashionable look. However, the Slam Dunk keeps its original, basketball silhouette. Each pair will feature a dual color scheme and a primarily canvas-textured construction. Look for the Pony Slam Dunk, along with other sneakers from the Archive Collection, to hit retailers in the fall of 2010.

OMD......These Jordans are Fly...Ive got to get myself a pair of these......The Infared Pack fro Jordans. Officially labeled AJ6 Infrared Pack, both the White and Black Infrared AJ6s will come packaged together in a Black/Infrared CDP like box. Still no word on a release date yet but, at least we are getting close.

Arguably the most successful Jordan hybrid to date, the Spizike sees two addition colorways this season, including a black/varsity red-stealth and black/new blue-white-infrared colorway. Both feature combo textile uppers, including the use of patent leather, premium leather, suede, and the brand’s signature elephant print. The black/new blue-white-infrared is set for a May 8th release while the mostly black silhouette drops on June 5th, 2010.

To follow up on the Adidas Ecstasy Mid we just showed you we have news of a Hi version of the shoe that comes in a bit more feminine colorway. This shoe features a dope hi-top construction with “adidas” written in huge white letters around the ankle. The Adidas logo can be seen in shiny black and pink color scheme on the mid-panel (surrounded by white leather) and on the tongue. The toe-box features perforated pink leather surrounded by textured, black nubuck. Definitely a great hi-top for all you ladies. If it catches your eye, pick them up now at Grip Footwear.

V.O.B. - Kicks: Reebok Reaches Deep Into Their Heritage

As Dennis Johnson and Danny Ainge helped the Boston Celtics to their 16th title in the mid-80’s, Reebok also entered into the world of basketball sneakers. With three simple models chosen as their initial launch, Reebok set foot in the competitive world of basketball sneakers. The simple silhouettes that were chosen were given an even more simple naming system, which merely abbreviated basketball to form BB followed by the model numbers to create the BB 4600, BB 5600 and the BB 6600. While Johnson, Ainge and other NBA players helped make the BB 4600 and BB 5600 popular, the BB 6600 seemed to fade like the Celtics did heading into the 90’s.

Although the BB 4600 and BB 5600 have seen a number of retro colorways over the years, the BB 6600 has been left in the darkness of the Reebok Classic vault. While some of the old school sneakerheads probably noticed the BB 6600 photos surface on the web earlier this year, it seemed as if the plan had been scrapped. However, one of the classic colorways of the BB 6600 has started to arrive at retailers like Flauge. The combination of White, Awesome Blue (yes, that’s the official name) and Red could not be more well placed on the BB 6600, as the shoes roots also tie into an era when patriotism (or at least the displaying of) was at possibly an all time high. For many this may look like another retro that will collect dust at the outlets, but for some the heritage aspects will be easily worth the purchase price.
